Nice and detailed map November 23, 2008 S. NGUYEN The map is very nice. I am using it to teach my kids the continents and countries. It is an inexpensive and effective learning tool. The other positive is the map adds color to an otherwise plain wall. My map was crushed during shipping. My 3 and 4 year-olds don't mind the creases. But if I were buying this for myself or as a gift, this would not be acceptable.
Don't waste your time looking for another World Map! November 18, 2008 buntu (Austin, TX) Was looking for a world map to go in my study. Requirements were: 1) Do not need a laminated one as I am not planning on writing on it 2) Should be big enough [It's 50 x 32] 3) Should look elegant This map fulfilled ALL of the above at an excellent price! Looks like Amazon listened to the customer feedback and shipped it in a solid shipping container; absolutely NO damage to the map inside.
Crushed October 31, 2008 Richard Coons (Los Olivos Calif.) The map should be wrapped around a tube, as it was just rolled up in a plastic box inside of a cardboard box UPS flatten it. I was not happy. it is badly creased.
Just what I wanted, a real classic August 20, 2008 Nathan Beauchamp (Oak Park, IL USA) This map hangs proudly in my office, and it is everything a good map should be: sharply detailed, accurate proportions to each continent, and a color scheme that makes differentiating between details intuitive. I personally really enjoy the aesthetics of this map and its 'aged' coloration. I framed it in a dark walnut frame that coordinates with the map very well. If you want a quality wall map with more muted colors, this is an excellent choice!
Our World at Your Fingertips August 15, 2008 J. Blackwood (Bethlehem, PA) Watching the Beijing 2008 Olympics opening ceremony, I realized I'd lost my geography skills and the world has changed since my last geography class (40+ years ago). This is a beautiful, large (50x32), detailed map: subtle colors, major cities, terrain, antique feel, suitable for framing... A must-have for all, but especially for families with children -- home-schooled or not (although it's not laminated). Your horizons will be heightened and you'll realize your place in the world. It helps bring perspective to global events. Our planet can seem small when seen in a book, on a TV screen, computer monitor, or cell phone... Good price, excellent value, fast delivery and well packaged. With a few mouse clicks, you can have the world at your fingertips. Buy it now; you owe it to yourself. Thank you for making it available, Amazon.
